3、ibutionofstressisinfluencedbythefaultsothatthestressisolinesarestaggeredbythefaultfaceandthestressisfocusedontherockseamaroundthetwoendsofthefault.Buttheinfluenceinfaultactivationontheupperorthelowerfaultblocksoftheworkfaceismarkedlydifferent.Whentheworkfaceisonthefootwallofthefault,thereisahorizo
4、ntaltensionstressareaontheupperpartofthefault;whentheworkfaceisontheupperpartofthefault,ithasahorizontalcompressivestressareaonthelowerfaultblock.Whentheworkfaceisatthelowerfaultblock,themaximumverticaldisplacementis5timeslargerthenwhentheworkfaceisontheupperfaultblock,whichgreatlyincreasesthechan
