4、andmetricmechanicalfastenersbyelectrodeposition.ThepropertiesofthecoatingsshallconformtotheASTMstandardsfortheindividualÞnishes.ThisstandardshallbeusedinplaceofASTMB633formechanicalfasteners.Coatingthicknessvaluesarebasedonstandardtolerancesforinchandmet

5、ricexternalthreads.Thecoatingmustnotcausethebasicthreadsizetobetransgressedbyeithertheinternalorexternalthreads.ThemethodofdesignatinginchcoatedthreadsshallcomplywithASMEB1.1andISO965-1,ISO965-2,andISO965-3forISOmetriccoatedthreads.Withnormalmethodsforde

6、positingmetalliccoatingsfromaqueoussolutions,thereisariskofdelayedfailureduetohydrogenembrittlementforcasehardenedfastenersandfastenershavingahardnessabove39HRC.Althoughthisriskcanbemanagedbyselectingrawmaterialssuitablefortheapplicationofelectrodeposite
