3、onalstandardsasoneofitsmajorobjectives”(Kurz2001:395).Whatarecriticalfactorswhichcanaffectinterpretationquality?Tan(2008)believesthattherearethreeaspects.Thefirstoneislogicalthinkingdifference,namely,thoughtpatterndifferencewhichcanrestrainexpressingabilit
4、yofinterpretation.Thesecondaspectisthataccentandintonationarethemaincausesoflisteningmisunderstanding.Thethirdoneisthatculturaldifferencesarepoles-apartdifferent.Obviously,thoughtpatterndifferencewasfirstlyputforwardbecauseitcanlargelyaffectinterpretationq
5、uality.Asforlogicthinking,Liu(2001)holdsanideathattheaccuracyofinterpretinginformationwillbeconsequentlyimprovedifthepercentageofthoughtpatterndifferenceisgoingdown.Shealsobelievesthatthelearningofinterpretationitselfisalearningofspecificthoughtpattern.The
6、refore,thegoalofacquiringandexpressinginformationfromlanguagesislargelydeterminedbymeansofintentionalthoughtpatternlearning.Accordingly,thoughtpatterndifferenceiscriticaltointerpretationquality.1.2ThePurposeoftheStudy6Inaninterpretingcontext,wheretheinterp
7、reterservesasthemediatortothecommunicatingparties,thoughtpatterndifferenceisworthgreaterattention.InChineseandEnglishinterpretingcase,duetothedifferencebetweentheChinesethoughtpatternandthatofwesterners,theinterpretermayencountertwokindsofdifficulties:stru
