4、twentupinsteadofout;aspreciousdowntownspacebecamemoreexpensivetheonlywayforbuildingstoexpandwasskyward.Sointhe20thcentury,skyscraperconstructiontrulyemerged.Twobuildingsbegunin1929,theChryslerBuildingandtheBankofManhattanTowerbecametherepresentativeofthistimes,andtheChryslerrea
5、chingtoaheightof1,046feet.Andafterthen,the“world’stallest"hadbeenchangedmoreandmorequickly.In1974,constructionofChicago'sSearsTowerbecome“theworld’stallest”reaching1,450-foot.4Sincethe1990s,theactionshiftedaroundtheglobetoAsia.CountriessuchasMalaysiaandChinaconstructingtheworld
