4、tentials．Thisthesiswilltrytointegratecognitivetheoriesonmetaphorwithsystemicfunctionalapproach．Itsobjectiveistopresentamechanismformetaphoricalconstrualofexperiencethatsatisfiesareasonablecriterionformetaphor,andsimultaneously，isconsistentwiththeexistingtheoriesofphilosophyandlinguisticsthat

5、areintimatelyrelatedtometaphor．Inadditiontotheargumentthatgrammaticalmetaphorisamajoralternativeformeaninggenerationandinterpretationinnewsreporting，afurtherconclusionisreachedthatgrammaticalmetaphorfindsitswayintothemajorcognitiveprocessingofmeaningpotentialaswellaslexicogrammaticalconstruc
