3、retakenforgranted;"whereas,tothebeginnerortheteachernotnaturallyastory-teller,thesecondaryorimpliedtechniqueisoftenofgreaterdifficultythanthemasteryofunderlyingprinciples.Thefewsuggestionswhichfollowareofthispractical,obviouskind.Takeyourstoryseriously.Nomatterhowriotouslyabsurditis,
4、orhowfullofinanerepetition,remember,ifitisgoodenoughtotell,itisarealstory,andmustbetreatedwithrespect.Ifyoucannotfeelsotowardit,donottellit.Havefaithinthestory,andintheattitudeofthechildrentowarditandyou.Ifyoufailinthis,theimmediateresultwillbeatouchofshame-facedness,affectingyourman
5、nerunfavorably,and,probably,influencingyouraccuracyandimaginativevividness.PerhapsIcanmakethepointclearerbytellingyouaboutoneofthegirlsinaclasswhichwasstudyingstorieslastwinter;Ifeelsureifsheoranyofherfellowstudentsrecognizestheincident,shewillnotresentbeingmadetoservethegoodcause,ev
