3、ngisexaminedusingfiniteelementsimulations.Thesimulationresultsshowthatthelargerthediegap,themoresevereisthewrinkling,andsuchwrinklingcannotbesuppressedbyincreasingtheblank-holderforce.Intheanalysisofwrinklingthatoccurredinthestampingofasteppedrectangularcup,anactualproducti

4、onpartthathasasimilartypeofgeometrywasexamined.Thewrinklesfoundatthedrawwallareattributedtotheunbalancedstretchingofthesheetmetalbetweenthepunchheadandthestepedge.Anoptimumdiedesignforthepurposeofeliminatingthewrinklesisdeterminedusingfinite-elementanalysis.Thegoodagreement

6、ps1.IntroductionWrinklingisoneofthemajordefectsthatoccurinthesheetmetalformingprocess.Forbothfunctionalandvisualreasons,wrinklesareusuallynotacceptableinafinishedpart.Therearethreetypesofwrinklewhichfrequentlyoccurinthesheetmetalformingprocess:flangewrinkling,wallwrinkling,

7、andelasticbucklingoftheundeformedareaowingtoresidualelasticcompressivestresses.Intheformingoperationofstampingacomplexshape,draw-wallwrinklingmeanstheoccurrenceofwrinklesinthediecavity.Sincethesheetmetalinthewallareaisrelativelyunsupportedbythetool,theeliminationofwallwrink
